Futuristic Nostalgia

The Overspray Monocompax sits at a crossroads — part cyberpunk fever dream, part automotive paint booth. The dial pulls from the same visual language as the genre's defining shows and games: hard geometry, aggressive colourways, line work that feels lifted from a screen rather than a drawing board, which... is very true since I'm drawing it out on the computer for laser work. But the overspray finish grounds it somewhere familiar — the kind of accidental beauty you find on a shop floor, colour bleeding where it shouldn't, texture you didn't plan for. New aesthetic, old soul. The Aevum x Garage Hira Overspray Monocompax is a planned cyber era paint accident.

Two Colours and Growing

Originally a test for my airbrush, Garage Hira has gone from one to two options in about a week with a third option to be released within the next week or so. Each colourway a nod to a tie-in — Cyberpunk's heavy use of yellow and black, the red and blue of Kaneda's pill jacket from Akira and soon one more that... I feel it's just nicer to see it arrive than explain it, especially since we're parody working the case backs to have an image that suits each colourway while staying tied to the Garage Hira watchmaking plan.

Case Back Details
If you know Aevum x 平 you know we're big on hand making a lot of our components and this time is no exception. This is our first chronograph hand made dial, but we're not stopping there. Our case backs are done in house and this time each colourway is matched to its own case back art — a parody on the world the inspiration comes from. For the yellow and black model, a Cyberpunk world. For the blue and red, a parody of the iconic Akira poster. Each bespoke to their watch and each with a familiar tie-in... they're all carrying a black watch case in the same style as the one the Overspray comes in.
