A new era for Aevum x Garage Hira
While I've always had a hand in the creation of my watches, it's been progressively getting more extensive.
It started simply — sourcing components, assembling, finishing. Standard ground for most independent makers. But the more I worked, the more I wanted to actually make the parts themselves, not just put them together.
So I taught myself to machine. The garage lathe became the starting point for titanium cases — cut, turned, and finished entirely in-house, no outsourcing. Then came the chapter rings and case backs, each one torched by hand to bring out the natural heat-coloring in the titanium, no two ever quite identical.
From there it was dials. First laser-engraved designs, working out depth and detail on brass and titanium blanks. Then airbrushed base coats, learning the patience that water-based paint demands. Then lume — mixed, applied, cured by hand into every index. And now, pad printing, pulling text and logos straight off hand-cut clichés.
Every step added is a step I refused to hand off to someone else. Garage Hira isn't a brand assembling parts from a catalogue — it's one person, in one garage, slowly building the entire watch from raw material to finished piece.
That's the model going forward. Not faster. Not bigger. Just more hands-on with every part that makes my watches what they are.
The Type-00 Carbon limited
The model that launched fully handmade Aevum production. Case, case back, and chapter ring hand-turned from grade 5 titanium on a manual lathe — no two are ever quite the same size, since each is shaped freehand rather than to a fixed spec. Chapter ring and case back finished with a hand-torched heat-coloured finish, unique to every piece. Offered with either the NH-34 GMT or NH-35 3-hand movement. Paired with a racing-inspired Italian leather strap and carbon fiber dial.

The Type-01 Turbo Fan
Hand-machined grade 5 titanium case on a manual lathe, featuring a Turbo Fan wheel-inspired dial design. Offered in two colorways: mint green with sakura pink accents on a tan leather strap, and powder blue with orange accents on a dark brown leather strap. Fully lumed with BGW9 blue glow Super-LumiNova. Runs the NH-35 automatic 3-hand movement with a 41-hour power reserve. Paired with a handcrafted Italian leather racing strap. Case dimensions vary piece to piece, hand-turned freehand on the lathe.
THE TYPE-02 TURBO FAN
Hand-turned grade 5 titanium case on a manual lathe. Aevum's first handmade dial — designed, painted, and hand-lumed entirely in-house, marking the shift away from outsourced dial production. Brushed silver fan-blade dial design with a deep blue gradient ring, paired with black urushi tipped leather strap. NH-35 automatic movement, 41-hour power reserve. Case dimensions vary piece to piece, hand-shaped on the lathe rather than cut to a fixed spec. This model is also the first to to get a radial cut bezel and radial cut chapter ring.

The Touge Racer
The first model to carry the Garage Hira mark — a bridge piece between the two names. Brushed steel dial with hand-laser-engraved manga speed-line artwork, ドン and ギャァア impact lettering, and the Aevum x 平 collaboration roundel. Pink seconds hand, lumed pill-style indices, and a deep blue-to-purple iridescent bezel coating. Black leather strap. Case dimensions vary piece to piece, hand-shaped on the lathe rather than cut to a fixed spec.
